Easy Elegance: A table dedicated to my aunt!
What a departure from my normal tablescapes! I usually go for fun and bright colors, but I purchased this vintage tablecloth with matching napkins at a thrift store and decided it needed something more sophisticated.
The dinner plates, cups, and saucers came from a garage sale of all places. There was a box sitting at the end of a lady's driveway during her garage sale, separated from the rest of the items for sale. I asked the lady if it was for sale, and she said, "Yes, $5." I said, "Will you take $3?" She said yes. Then, she added that it was her wedding china, and she was getting a divorce, and she just wanted to get rid of it. She then offered me her ex-husband to be's golf clubs! I passed on the golf clubs!
The cake plate is from Home Goods.
The soup bowls are from Crate and Barrel, on sale!
The silver pieces are from my dear Aunt Hyacinth. Last year for Christmas, we decided to thrift our gifts to each other. It stressed me out, but I think we both found neat stuff for each other. I love the little creamer and sugar. She also found the water glasses, the butter dish, and the crystal salt and pepper shakers.
The shell planter was a purchase from an antique store for just $3.
The cake server and the cake knife were a match set found at a thrift store.
The saucers under the soup bowls are Vintage Turquoise A.D. Fiesta saucers that go with the demitasse cups. I thought the soup bowls needed an underplate.
Notice the post-86 Fiesta Juniper Tripod candle holders. I finally bought a pair of white taper candles just to go with this tablescape.
This is the large post-86 Fiesta Juniper vase. Juniper has since been retired.
This is the sugar and creamer from the garage sale wedding china set. I decided to put a creamer and sugar bowl at each end of the table so that items would not have to be passed down the table.
